Model Projects
Around 2008 I started using off camera flash, actually strobes (monolights) along with different shaped modifiers (softboxes). This was a learning curb for me as I did not have a lot of experience using flash, let alone off camera flash. This was a process that lent to be more creative and to me, presented a welcomed challenge. I found out that models in general love to have their picture taken, and this gave me the opportunity to practice using external light systems. While looking at my early shots I could see the progression that eventually allowed me to find my unique niche. I learned to shoot outdoors, as the natural light is constantly changing and in studio, where you have a control environment. I photographed many models in my time and inspiring models that were looking to build their portfolio. This also opened new doors for me. I started doing some commercial, promo and calendars. This gave me the ability to learn how to produce professional client portraits. Today, I seldom photograph models anymore, I stay with client work. What I gained during the time I was working with numerous beautiful models, it helped me develop in to the photographer that I am today. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to work with so many talent models, many of them who are still friends. It built my confidence and taught me so much. I learned how light from strobes, ambient and natural light work together in combination to produce a nice result. In the menu of this website you can find many other photographs from the early days. Below are a selected few.
